About Dubai International Arabian Races 2018
Under the experienced guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shadwell, have established and invested in a significant programme of activity to promote Arabian racing around the globe. The initiative brings these worldwide races together under one banner: Dubai International Arabian Races. This is one of the largest and most significant initiatives in the Arabian racing calendar and is exceptionally well supported and held in high regard by Arabian trainers in many countries.

Shadwell’s Chairman, Mirza Al Sayegh outlined the aim of the initiative.
“The idea is to help countries by supporting racing, in particular Arabian racing, to develop it as a sport.  We know Arabian racing has a way to go before it is at the same level as Thoroughbred racing but we hope this programme will encourage breeders, owners and trainers to get more involved in the sport.”

Dubai International Arabian Races (DIAR), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to enable more people to enjoy the sport of Arabian horse racing and to help more countries develop the sport internationally, through their sponsorship and support. To help achieve this, DIAR organises a series of races around the world each year.

The DIAR programme of 16 ’Preparation Races’ is set out to encourage international runners to Dubai International Arabian Races flagship event at Newbury Racecourse on Sunday 29th July 2018. This event is one of the best and most prestigious full days of Purebred Arabian racing in the world. It features five international races, including three Group 1 PA races and a Group 2 PA race.

The bonus scheme is a well-established part of the DIAR programme: horses that finish first, second or third in any of the ’Preparation Races’ are eligible to compete for a bonus at DIAR Newbury on Sunday 29thJuly 2018. Dubai International Arabian Races looks forward to welcoming all connections and thanks everyone for their support and participation in 2018.
